The Right Nutrition for Your Kidneys

Kidneys perform many vital functions in your body, including filtering waste and impurities from your blood, maintaining the balance of minerals and electrolytes, and supporting red blood cell production. Keeping your kidneys healthy and functioning is an essential part of maintaining your overall health. And it probably won’t come as a surprise to know that your diet plays an important role in the maintenance of these important organs.  What should I eat to take care of my kidneys? The best way to take good care of your kidneys and ward off chronic kidney disease (CKD) is to prevent diabetes, hypertension, and obesity — the major contributors to CKD. When it comes to your diet, that means eating mostly whole and plant-based foods while limiting foods that are processed and high in added sugars and trans and saturated fats (basically, diet guidance we should follow anyway!). In fact, research shows a link between eating primarily plant-based foods and a decreased risk of CKD. Once a pe

Men with low testosterone levels are at higher risk of mortality: Study

The health risks of low testosterone levels in men include low sex drive, erectile dysfunction, reduced concentration, insomnia and depression Low levels of testosterone make one susceptible to metabolic disorders like diabetes and obesity, which increase the risk of cardiac conditions. A systematic review found that men with low serum testosterone levels were at increased risk of all-cause and cardiovascular mortality. The research published in the journal Annals of Internal Medicine reviewed 11 studies comprising over 24,000 participants, aiming to clarify previous inconsistent findings regarding the influence of sex hormones on health outcomes in aging men. What were the study parameters? The researchers used individual participant data (IPD) to summarize the association between baseline concentrations of different hormones — which included testosterone, sex hormone-binding globulin (SHBG), luteinizing hormone (LH), dihydrotestosterone and estradiol — and the relative risk of cardio

Top 15 Anti-Inflammatory Foods You Should Be Eating Every Day

There are basically two types of inflammations:- Short-term inflammation and Chronic inflammation.  Short-term inflammation, otherwise known as acute inflammation, is a natural response of your body’s immune system. It is the body’s response to outside threats like stress, infection, or toxic chemicals. When the immune system senses that the body is threatened by one of these dangers, it activates proteins to protect cells and tissues. When our bodies are healthy, acute inflammation literally protects our body from further damage. However, things get bad when inflammation becomes chronic – when the immune cells start to overreact, and start attacking our own body. This can be the result of systemic viruses or bacteria, an autoimmune disorder, sugary and fatty foods, or the way you handle stress. Chronic inflammation is the root cause of many serious ailments, like heart disease, cancer, Alzheimer’s, obesity and gastrointestinal disorders. The link between chronic inflammation and the i

Plant-Based Diets Lower Risk of Heart Trouble, Cancer and Death!

According to a new review, following a vegetarian or vegan diet might just buy you a longer, healthier life. Staying away from meat was tied to a reduced risk of heart disease, cancer and early death, researchers reported in a study published Wednesday in the journal PLOS One. After combing through nearly 50 studies on such diets that were published between 2000 and 2023, a clear pattern emerged: Both were linked to a lower risk of both cancer and heart disease linked to narrowed arteries. Notably, the diets seemed to reduce the risk of prostate cancer and gastrointestinal cancers like colon cancer. Vegetarian diets were also linked to a lower risk of dying from cardiovascular disease. In addition, plant-based diets lowered the chances of obesity, inflammation and "bad" LDL cholesterol. Read more here .

Juice Therapy for Various Ailments

Pyridostigmine and Human Growth Hormone (HGH)

Pyridostigmine , classified as a type of parasympathomimetic (acetylcholinesterase inhibitor,), is used to treat muscle weakness in people with myasthenia gravis or forms of congenital myasthenic syndrome and to combat the effects of curariform drug toxicity. Pyridostigmine bromide has been FDA approved for military use during combat situations. It is used to treat underactive bladder. It is sometimes also used to treat orthostatic hypotension. It may also be of benefit in chronic axonal polyneuropathy.
